okay, folks! let’s get this show on the road.

• my name is kyrie. it rhymes with ‘eerie.’ if you have been under the impression that that it was pronounced similar to a greek prayer or a kingdom hearts character, fret not, because after years of correcting substitute teachers (and just letting the people at the orthodontist’s office do whatever they wanted) my icy heart has learnt to be forgiving out of necessity.
• i don’t actually have an icy heart but you shouldn’t fret anyway because chances are i like you and don’t mind.
• you may have discerned from the above picture that the back of my head is, as they say, ridiculous. GINGER PRIDE~
• my hair is actually a curly wavy frizzy mess most of the time, but this is a picture from, like, march ‘10 after i’d just come back from a hairstylist, and i figured i’d put my best back-of-the-head forward and all that.

• now that we’ve gotten my name, my hair, and my face out of the way i don’t really know what to talk about so i’ll just throw some random facts out there
• i am, in general, a big ol’ nerd invested in narratives of the ladycentric kind
• no, really, with very few exceptions girls are the focus in everything i love and generally if i have no female characters to flip out over i will pass up that fiction for something else
• those fictions usually fall under the horror-science-fiction-fantasy-action umbrella, but i do venture outside of that sometimes too
• top five movies i love that everyone else hates: sucker punch, 5ive girls, push, jennifer’s body, and st. trinian’s
• which are basically…LADIES EVERYWHERE except for push, and even that one still does pretty well on that front
• do people hate the live-action josie and the pussycats movie? if so, throw that one in as a bonus
• other films beloved to my heart: planet terror, kiss kiss bang bang, the hellboy movies, kaboom, the blood + ice cream trilogy, iron man, various tarantino movies, various disney movies, and everything rian johnson ever did. all two of them. (soon to be three! TAKE THAT, BOX OFFICE.)
• annnnnnd have some tv fandoms too: the sarah connor chronicles, various installations in jossverse, doctor who/torchwood, veronica mars, community, gen 1 of skins and scraps of later ones, lost girl, dead like me, the black donnellys, joan of arcadia, teen titans, avatar: the last airbender, x-men: evolution. PROBABLY THERE ARE A MILLION I AM LEAVING OFF and i will feel crankily suspicious of the ~accuracy here but i am moving on for now. (eta: it’s against my morals not to add in young justice, because YJ YJ YJ! newfound love of my life, oh man.)
• the vampire diaries and i used to go out, but then we had a long messy breakup a la heroes. TELEVISION, MAN. why’s it gotta be like that.
• also, i love comics. i love comics. talk to me about serenity rose talk to me about scott pilgrim talk to me about runaways talk to me about hack/slash TALK TO ME ABOUT COMICS. (i haven’t actually read much marvel/dc stuff in the sense of superhero whatnot, outside of the previously-mentioned runaways, but the genre is one that fascinates me and i have loved many a deconstruction/movie adaptation/novel based around its ideas and tropes.)
• and I’m officially tiring of lowercase so back to traditional capitalization. Just to keep you on your toes, make sure you don’t get bored, etc.
• In terms of all that personality junk you find around, I am an INFP except for when I’m an INFJ, a four except for when I’m an eight, and a Ravenclaw except for when I’m a Hufflepuff. I say this not to seem like a special snowflake but to illustrate how my life has been an exercise in indecision and waffling. (eta: at the time of this writing, Pottermore has placed me in Gryffindor. I’ll just…I’ll just let that stand by itself.)
• ostensibly, my goal in life is to be a writer sometime, but my inspiration well has been dry for a very long time and it has left me to irritably contemplate just what i’m going to do with my life as a result.
• it is 2:45 in the morning so I am going to finish this shit tomorrow. sleeeeeeeeep.
• I am fairly certain what this post has really revealed is that I AM THE MOST OBNOXIOUS PERSON ALIVE. Oh, dear.
• irl I am very shy and absolutely terrible at communicating, so the internet is basically where all my sass comes out.

• I totally had something I was definitely going to write down and now I don’t remember what it is and it’s going to bother me until this is over and done with.
• Analyzing fiction and pop culture is what I do All Day Long. If I can figure out a way to work it into a conversation or a paper for school, I will do it.
• Feminism is a thing that is important to me! As are promoting antifail and combatting -isms, which was probably evidenced by how posts featuring those get reblogged around these parts regularly.
• I listen to a lot of music and enjoy talking about that very much, too. I won’t list anything here because then we’ll be here for another week and that would get in the way of other obligations.

• one time in eighth or ninth grade, i stabbed myself in the hand with a pencil and the little piece of graphite is still visible in my palm to this day.
